THE STORY BEHIND EVERY THREAD
At Amir Carpet, we have been dealing in Persian carpets in Lebanon since the early 90s,
when my father Amir opened our first showroom in Gallery Samaan, Beirut. It wasn’t just a shop — it was a space where heritage met artistry. From the beginning, his passion for Persian carpets, with their stories, knots, and colors, defined everything we did.
Our goal wasn’t just to sell rugs — it was to connect people with beauty, history, and meaning. Each piece was handpicked, and each client was treated like family.
Over the years, we became known not only for our collection, but for our dedication to the art behind it.
Growing Up Among Rugs: Saint Therese (2005–2024)
In 2005, our family moved the showroom to Saint Therese, a location that quickly became synonymous with elegance and expertise. It was in this showroom where I grew up, immersed in the vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and rich textures of Persian carpets. Saint Therese was more than just a store — it was a place where customers found more than rugs; they found stories, history, and an experience shaped by decades of knowledge. Over nearly two decades, our collection grew to include exquisite antique rugs, luxurious silks, and bold tribal kilims, each piece carefully selected for its uniqueness and beauty.
Our Beirut Showroom, Lost in the War
On October 2, 2024, our beloved showroom in Beirut was destroyed during the war in Lebanon. In just one moment, we lost more than 3,000 carpets — a lifetime collection of rare and antique Persian rugs and tribal kilims that we had carefully gathered since the 1990s.
These were not just products. Each carpet held history, culture, and memory. The shop itself was a place filled with stories — our own and those of countless families who trusted us to help shape their homes.
The loss was deeply painful, not only because of the material damage, but because it marked the end of a space we had poured our hearts into for decades.
A New Chapter , Reopening in Beiurt 2025
In early 2025, we made the decision to reopen.
Although the loss of our shop was deeply painful, our love for Persian rugs never faded. In fact, it became our driving force. Therefore, instead of giving up, we chose to rebuild — not just a space, but everything our family has stood for over the years.
We opened a new showroom in Jnah, Beirut, filled with the same spirit that guided us since the beginning. This new chapter carries with it decades of experience, care, and passion.
Moreover, our collection continues to reflect the artistry and soul that have always defined Amir Carpet — from fine silk masterpieces to earthy tribal kilims. Whether you're a returning client or just discovering our world, we welcome you into a space that represents resilience, beauty, and timeless tradition.
